# Airtable

> On 6 Oct 2026 we found this on airtable.com: 14-day free trial. Without it, airtable.com lists Airtable at a free plan, with paid plans on request.

Airtable charges per collaborator with edit rights, so people who only view a base, fill in a form or open a share link cost nothing. The Free plan holds 1,000 records per base and up to five editors, while Team raises that to 50,000 records and Business to 125,000. A new account starts a 14-day Team trial on its own, with lower automation and storage limits than the paid plan. Nonprofits and students apply through separate forms for discounted plans.

Airtable lets you build lightweight apps and workflows on what looks like a spreadsheet. You link records between tables and switch between grid, kanban, calendar and form views. Automations and AI fields handle the repetitive updates. You can start on the free tier, and operations and marketing teams reach for it once their spreadsheets get too tangled to manage.

## Questions

### Who counts as a paid seat on Airtable?

On Team and Business, Airtable bills every user who can edit at least one base in the workspace. Read-only collaborators, form submissions and share links are free. If you add an editor halfway through the month, Airtable charges only for the days left in that month.

### How much do I save by paying for a year?

Airtable's plans page lists Team at USD 24 per collaborator a month on monthly billing, or USD 20 when billed yearly. Business goes from USD 54 to USD 45 on the same terms. On a team of five editors, the yearly Team plan saves about USD 240 a year.

### What happens when the 14-day Team trial ends?

Airtable starts the Team trial when you create your account, so you don't need a card to try it. During the trial you get fewer automation runs and less storage than a paid Team plan. Once it ends without an upgrade, your workspace runs on the Free plan limits.

### Will I lose data if I go over the Free plan limits?

No. Airtable says you keep using your bases if you reach or pass the record or attachment limits, and it does not delete your data. The Free plan caps each base at 1,000 records, 1 GB of attachments and 1,000 API calls per workspace a month. You'll have to upgrade or trim records before adding more.

### Can I upgrade to Business with a Gmail address?

No. Airtable requires a private company email domain for Business and Enterprise Scale, so Gmail or Yahoo addresses can't upgrade to them. Team works with any address. Set up your workspace under your company domain if you expect to need Business later.
