# Asana

> On 6 Oct 2026 we found this on asana.com: 50% off for nonprofits. Without it, asana.com lists Asana at a free plan, with paid plans on request.

Asana's free Personal plan covers up to two users and leaves out timeline views, dashboards and automations. Paid seats start on Starter, then Advanced, and Enterprise is quoted by sales. Seats come in blocks once a team grows: single seats up to five users, then steps of five up to 30 and steps of ten up to 100. Nonprofits, public libraries, schools and universities can get half off Starter or Advanced after a check through Goodstack.

Asana lets your team plan projects, assign tasks and track work in one shared place. Everyone sees who owns each task and when it is due, so status updates need fewer meetings. A free plan covers small teams getting started. It suits teams that coordinate projects across several people and want one source of truth for deadlines.

## Questions

### How much cheaper is Asana on yearly billing?

Starter costs USD 10.99 per user a month billed yearly, or USD 13.49 billed monthly, on Asana's pricing page. Advanced is USD 24.99 yearly or USD 30.49 monthly. On Starter that is about 19% less for paying a year up front.

### Why am I paying for more seats than I have people?

Asana sells seats in tiers once you pass five users. Between six and 30 users you buy in blocks of five, and up to 100 in blocks of ten. A team of 12 pays for 15 seats, so fill the spare ones before buying the next block.

### Does Asana refund a plan I cancel early?

No. Asana does not give refunds. If you cancel before renewal, you keep the paid features until the end of the period you paid for. Pick monthly billing while you test whether the team sticks with it.

### Are AI requests included in the Starter price?

Paid plans include AI Teammates and Asana Dash, but AI requests are billed apart from the seat price. Asana lists prepaid packs at USD 0.50 per request on an annual term. Pay-as-you-go costs USD 0.60 per request on monthly billing, with a USD 5.99 per user minimum.

### How does my organisation get the nonprofit discount?

Fill in Asana's short eligibility form; Goodstack checks your registered nonprofit status or the equivalent in your country. Once approved, you receive a discount code by email and apply it when you buy Starter or Advanced. Hospitals are excluded, and the 50% stays on as long as you keep your Asana account.
