Cloud Starter and Pro come with a monthly execution allowance, unlimited users and workflows, and a free trial with no card that includes 1,000 executions. The Community edition is free to self-host, and the Business plan is currently self-hosted only. Startups under 20 people with under €5M raised can apply for half price on Business for a year.

n8n connects your apps into automated workflows, built from visual nodes, code steps and AI agents. The code is source-available, so you can run it on your own server or use n8n's cloud. ### What counts as an execution on n8n?

One execution is one run of a whole workflow. The number of steps or the amount of data in that run doesn't change the count. A workflow with 30 nodes that runs once uses the same as a two-node workflow.

### Can I run n8n for free?

Yes, the Community edition is open source and free to self-host on your own server. You handle hosting, updates and backups yourself. The Cloud plans have a trial instead of a free tier.

### What happens at the end of the n8n Cloud trial?

The trial gives Pro-level features with up to 1,000 executions, and you don't add a card to start it. To keep your workflows running afterwards, you pick a paid Cloud plan. If you'd rather not pay for Cloud, you can export workflows and run them on the self-hosted Community edition.
