# Vercel

> On 5 Oct 2026 we found this on vercel.com: up to $30,000 for startups. Without it, vercel.com lists Vercel at a free plan, with paid plans on request.

Vercel has three plans: Hobby is free for personal, non-commercial projects, Pro is billed per developer seat, and Enterprise is priced on request. Pro includes a monthly usage credit, and anything above it is charged as you go, with a spend budget that can pause projects when it runs out. Viewer seats on Pro cost nothing, so only people who deploy code are billed. The startup programme gives eligible young companies usage credit and Enterprise-tier access after an application.

Vercel deploys your web app each time you push to Git, and the team behind Next.js runs it. Every push gets its own preview URL, so you can check changes before they go live. Production runs on a global edge network with serverless functions. The free hobby plan covers personal projects, with team plans for companies.

## Questions

### Can I run a client or business site on the Hobby plan?

No. Vercel's fair use guidelines limit Hobby to non-commercial, personal use. A shop, a client project or a SaaS product belongs on Pro or higher. Hobby also lacks team collaboration and email support.

### Which team members do I pay for on Pro?

Vercel bills Pro by developer seat, listed at $20 per user per month in US dollars, excluding VAT. Viewer seats for people who only look at deployments are free. One billing seat for whoever handles payments is included.

### What happens if my usage goes past what Pro includes?

Pro comes with a monthly credit that covers most platform resources, and usage above it is billed on demand. New teams start with a default on-demand budget of $200, with alerts by email, web and SMS. You can set projects to pause when the budget hits 100% so a traffic spike doesn't turn into a surprise invoice.

### Is there a Pro trial, and what does it leave out?

Vercel offers a Pro trial so you can test team features before paying. Some features are limited during it: drains, for example, can't be configured on a trial. The free first-year domain that comes with Pro applies only once your team is on a paid plan.

### How do I join Vercel's startup programme?

You fill in the interest form on vercel.com/startups and the startups team reviews it. Accepted teams get up to $30,000 in usage commitment plus Enterprise-tier access and support. Vercel's page doesn't publish fixed criteria such as funding stage, so expect questions about your company when they reply.
