ElevenLabs sells monthly credits: Free gives 10,000, Starter 30,000 for $6 and Creator 121,000 for $22, rising through Pro, Scale and Business. Commercial use starts at Starter, and Professional Voice Cloning at Creator. Unused credits roll over for up to two months, and annual billing charges 10 months for 12. The startup grant is for companies under 25 people with a paid product, and covers 12 months and 33 million characters.

Can I use the free plan for client or monetised work?

No, the Free plan has no commercial licence. You need Starter or higher before narration or voices go into anything you sell, including YouTube videos you earn from. Starter is $6 a month on ElevenLabs' pricing page and also adds Instant Voice Cloning.

What happens to credits I don't use this month?

Unused credits carry over for up to two months. Your balance can reach three times your monthly quota at most, and anything older drops off. If you run out before renewal, you can buy pay-as-you-go top-up credits instead of moving up a plan.

Which plan do I need to clone my own voice properly?

Instant Voice Cloning comes with Starter, from a short sample. Professional Voice Cloning, trained on longer recordings, starts at Creator and stays at one voice up to Pro. Scale allows 3 professional clones and Business 10.

Is the yearly plan worth it?

Annual billing charges you for 10 months and gives 12, so you save about 17% against monthly. Creator also has a reduced first month, $11 instead of $22, if you start monthly. Lock in a year once you know which credit tier your output needs.

Can my startup get a year free?

The ElevenLabs grant gives 12 months of access with 33 million characters, across agents, cloning, speech and music. You need fewer than 25 employees, a business email, a monetised product and a long-term project; agencies, consultancies and products for under-18s are excluded. You apply on the grants page and hear back within a week.
