Price today
Shopify charges a monthly subscription per store, and the plan you choose also sets your card processing rate and staff account limit. Basic, Grow and Advanced cost about a quarter less a month when you pay yearly, and Plus is quoted for larger merchants. If you use a payment provider other than Shopify Payments, Shopify adds its own fee on each sale, from 2% on Basic down to 0.2% on Plus. New stores start with a free trial followed by a low introductory price for the first three months on a monthly plan.

Questions
What happens after my Shopify free trial ends?
New stores move to the introductory offer: 1 a month in your local currency for the first three months on a monthly plan. After that, the regular price of your chosen plan applies. The offer is for new stores only, so a second store you open later may not get it.
Why does Shopify charge an extra fee when I use another payment provider?
Shopify adds a transaction fee on sales processed outside Shopify Payments. It's 2% on Basic, 1% on Grow, 0.6% on Advanced and 0.2% on Plus. Using Shopify Payments removes that fee, though you still pay its card rates.
How many staff accounts does each Shopify plan include?
Basic has no extra staff accounts beyond the owner. Grow includes up to five, Advanced up to 15 and Plus unlimited. If several people need their own login, that limit often decides the plan.
Is paying Shopify yearly worth it?
On Shopify's pricing page the yearly price works out about 25% lower per month on Basic, Grow and Advanced. You commit for 12 months, so it suits a store that already sells. While you're still testing, the monthly plan and the introductory offer keep your risk low.
Do Shopify's card rates fall on higher plans?
Yes, the online card rate through Shopify Payments drops with each plan from Basic to Plus. The fixed part per transaction stays the same. Once your monthly sales are high, the lower rate on Grow or Advanced can cover the higher subscription.
