Linear charges per user on its Basic and Business plans, quoted on linear.app at $10 and $16 per user a month with yearly billing, while Enterprise is a custom annual contract. The Free plan lets any number of members in but stops at 250 issues and two teams, which a small product team fills within months. Startups backed by one of Linear's partner investors or accelerators can get the Business plan free, as long as they have fewer than 50 people and have never paid for Linear.

Questions
When does the Linear Free plan stop being enough?
The Free plan caps a workspace at 250 issues and two teams. Members are unlimited, so headcount is rarely the trigger. Most teams upgrade when they hit the issue cap, because archived and closed issues still need a home.
How do I claim the Linear startup offer?
You need a dedicated link from a Linear partner, such as your VC firm, accelerator or startup community. Log in as a workspace admin and follow that link to redeem the Business plan. If your investor is not a partner yet, ask them to fill in Linear's partner application form.
What happens when the free Business period ends?
Linear moves your workspace to the Free plan unless you choose a paid plan. Your issues, projects and history stay in the workspace. Check your issue count beforehand, since the Free plan only holds 250.
Who is left out of the startup programme?
Companies with 50 or more employees do not qualify. Workspaces that already pay for Linear are excluded too, so apply before you start a paid subscription. Startups without a partner investor or community have no direct route in.
Does Basic or Business suit a small team?
Basic removes the Free plan's limits at $10 per user a month on yearly billing, according to Linear's pricing page. Business costs $16 per user and adds the features larger product teams ask for. Since you pay for every member, compare the two by multiplying by your real headcount.
