Zapier charges by tasks: each action a Zap completes counts as one, and the plan you pick sets how many you get a month. The Free plan gives 100 tasks a month and only two-step Zaps, so a trigger plus a single action. Professional starts with 750 tasks and adds multi-step Zaps, while Team adds shared workspaces for up to 25 users. Paying yearly cuts the monthly rate by a third, and registered nonprofits get a further 15% off.

Questions
What counts as a task on Zapier?
A task is one action that a Zap carries out, such as creating a row in a sheet or sending an email. The trigger that starts the Zap does not use a task. A three-step Zap that runs 100 times therefore uses about 200 tasks, so count actions, not runs, when you size a plan.
What happens when I run out of tasks mid-month?
With pay-per-task switched off, your Zaps stop at the limit and restart when the next billing cycle begins. With it switched on, Zapier keeps running and bills the extra tasks at 1.25 times the base rate on yearly plans and 2.5 times on monthly plans. Usage stops at three times your plan limit either way.
Do I need a card for the Professional trial?
No. Zapier's site says the 14-day Professional trial needs no credit card. When the two weeks end, your account drops back to the Free plan, and any Zap with more than two steps stops working until you upgrade.
How much does the yearly plan save?
Paying yearly takes 33% off Zapier's monthly rate. Professional at the entry tier of 750 tasks shows as USD 29.99 a month billed monthly and USD 19.99 a month billed yearly. The same discount applies to every task tier on Professional and Team.
Is Team worth it over Professional for a small business?
Team starts at 2,000 tasks and covers up to 25 users who can share Zaps and connected accounts in one workspace. Professional is a single-user plan, so colleagues would need their own logins and their own task allowance. If two or more people build or fix automations, Team avoids duplicate accounts.
