Let AI do tasks
Letting AI act for you comes down to how it reaches your apps. Claude Desktop and Claude Code connect to MCP servers, so Claude can read and change your own files and tools. Lindy builds agents without code that handle email, scheduling and lead follow-up in the background. Zapier adds AI steps to trigger-and-action workflows, while n8n mixes AI agents with code steps and can run on your own server.

Questions
Should I connect Claude through MCP or build an agent in Lindy?
MCP suits you if you want to work alongside Claude and let it act when you ask, such as updating a file or a record. Lindy suits routine jobs that should run without you, like answering certain emails or following up leads. Both Claude and Lindy have free plans, so you can try each on one real task. Many people use Claude for ad hoc work and an agent for the recurring jobs.
Can I try AI agents for free?
You can start on Claude, Lindy or Zapier without paying. Claude's free plan lets you test the assistant before connecting tools. Lindy's free plan lets you build and run a first agent. n8n does not list a free plan here, though you can host it yourself.
I already automate with Zapier. What does an AI agent add?
A Zapier workflow follows fixed rules: this trigger, then these actions. An agent reads the content and decides, such as drafting a reply that fits the email it received. Zapier now includes AI steps, so you can add judgement to a workflow you already have. Keep fixed workflows for anything that must run the same way each time.
How do I stop an AI agent from doing something I didn't approve?
Give it the fewest permissions the task needs: read access before write access, one inbox before all of them. Start agents in a mode where they draft and you send. Lindy lets you choose the triggers and tools each agent may use. Review the run history for the first weeks before you let it act alone.
Where does my data go when AI works in my apps?
The AI provider sees whatever the agent reads, such as emails or customer records, so GDPR applies. n8n can run on your own server, which keeps workflow data where you choose. With hosted tools such as Claude, Lindy or Zapier, read the data processing terms and check where data is stored. Leave sensitive data such as health or payroll out of agents until you have checked that.
