Zendesk bills per agent per month, and the plan sets which channels those agents can work in. Support Team, the cheapest plan, handles email tickets but leaves out messaging, live chat, voice and the AI-assisted help centre, which start at Suite Team. The standard 14-day trial opens every Suite Professional feature. Separately, Zendesk for Startups gives young, early-stage companies Professional Suite and Copilot free for six months, or longer through partner investors.

Questions

What people ask about Zendesk.

Who qualifies for Zendesk for Startups?

Your company must be new to Zendesk as a paying customer, under 10 years old, funded no further than Series B, and below 250 employees. Teams of 50 to 249 people need a referral from a partner. You apply through the form on Zendesk's startups page, or through your investor's or accelerator's referral link.

How many agents does the startup offer cover?

Zendesk says the programme covers up to 50 agents, with the exact number set by your funding profile and partner. Companies coming through a VC or accelerator partner can get one or two years instead of six months. Terms depend on how closely Zendesk works with that partner.

What happens when the free startup period ends?

No card is needed to join, so nothing is charged automatically. When the period ends you choose a paid plan to keep the account running. Pick the plan based on the channels you used during the free months, since Support Team drops messaging and live chat.

How much do I save by paying yearly?

On Zendesk's UK pricing page, Support Team is £15 per agent a month billed yearly against £20 billed monthly. Suite Team is £45 against £59, and Suite Professional £89 against £115. The gap is roughly a quarter on each plan, and it multiplies by every agent seat.

Do I pay for people who only read tickets?

Zendesk prices the base subscription by agent seats on your chosen plan. Count the people who answer customers, not everyone in the company. Light users who only check a ticket now and then add cost if you give them a full seat, so review who needs one before renewing.
